FAQ

Do you have to be Catholic to go to SPA?

We are a Catholic faith and welcome all.

Where do your families live?

Our families come from over 25 towns in the greater seacoast area, including towns in southern Maine, seacoast New Hampshire, and northern Massachusetts.

Do you have any financial aid?

We offer financial aid and scholarship opportunities. We are a mission-based organization and strive to be the best Catholic school in New England. We partner with families who seek to provide their children with the gift of a Saint Patrick Academy education, and we are committed to making tuition affordable for families of all accepted students.

Do you have a full-time summer program?

Yes, our summer camp offerings are robust.

Are there opportunities for parents to volunteer?

Our private, independent school welcomes parent volunteers. All parents are invited to join our Moms Club or Dads Club. We also offer a Room Parents Organization. In addition, we offer parent volunteer opportunities throughout the year ranging from coaching to chaperoning field trips to supporting school events like our Used Uniform Sale.

What are the hours for your school day?

Our school day starts at 8:00am. PreK-3 through 4th grade students are dismissed at 2:30pm, and 5th through 8th grade students are dismissed at 3:15pm.

Students in PreK-3 and PreK-4 can enroll in our full day program (5 days/week) or our half day program (5 days/week).

Before care opens at 7:00am, and after care closes at 5:30pm.

Do you have levels in math or other subjects?

We differentiate instruction within the classroom in all subjects to best meet the needs of each student. Additionally, we offer two options for students in math starting in 6th grade. In 6th grade, we offer 6th Grade Math and 6th Grade Accelerated Math. In 7th grade we offer 7th Grade Math and Pre-Algebra. In 8th grade, we offer 8th Grade Math and Algebra.

What do Saint Patrick Academy students wear to school?

Saint Patrick Academy students wear a uniform to school. Depending on the day, students will wear their regular uniform or their dress uniform. All uniform guidelines are posted on our website. Uniform pieces can be purchased at Landsend.com with our Preferred School Number. Non-uniform days may be designated by the school administration.

What grade levels do you educate?

Our private, independent school in Portsmouth, New Hampshire offers classes for PreK and Kindergarten through 8th grade.

How many classes are there per grade?

We have one class per grade from PreK through 5th grade and two classes per grade starting in 6th grade.

Do you work with students with learning differences or offer classroom accommodations?

Yes. We seek to equip each student with the skills and learning environment needed in order to ensure that they are set up for success. Just as learning differences vary, so, too, does our ability to serve all students. As part of the admissions process, we review each student’s entire academic portfolio – including learning assessments conducted at the current school – and then work with each family individually to determine an appropriate fit. We encourage families to contact our Admissions team at admissions@saintpatrickacademy.org with any questions.

What age must students be for Pre-K and Kindergarten?

Students must be 3 by September 30th to enter PreK-3, 4 by September 30th to enter PreK-4, and 5 by September 30th to enter Kindergarten.
