Sister Mary Jo was born March 8, 1934. She was one of three children of Thomas Joseph and Helen (Horgan) Walsh of Everett, MA. Spending most of her youth visiting her sister (Sister Helen Mary – Sisters of Providence), Mary Jo knew that she wanted to also be a nun. Sister Mary Jo received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and then her Master’s Degree in Administration at Notre Dame University.
Sister Mary Jo entered religious life at 19 years old in 1953, and took her Final Vows in 1960 at 26. Sister Mary Jo spent most of her life teaching and serving as a principal. She died peacefully in her home at age 82 on October 13, 2016.
The purpose of this designated fund is to provide tuition assistance and other necessities to children from Portsmouth, New Hampshire attending Saint Patrick Academy.
This scholarship is to honor the memory of Kelley Ryan, daughter of Gene and Dee Ryan, who passed away tragically from a car accident on May 13, 1988. Kelley was an alumna of Saint Pat’s and her memory endures.
These funds provide an annual scholarship for families in need.
This scholarship honors the memory of Joanne V. Schepis Stone, daughter of N. Paul and Carole Schepis.
These funds provide a $2,000 annual scholarship for families in need.
The Jay and Mary Pat Gibson scholarship provides an annual scholarship to a student in need.
