No Phone Zone
When kids enter the doors of Saint Patrick Academy, they enter our No Phone Zone. All students drop off their cell phones in the morning and retrieve them at the end of the day. Here, they are free to focus on learning and building relationships with their peers, teachers and the students from other classes. We see a direct correlation with our students’ ability to socialize, be productive and contribute to our community without the constant pull and distraction of cell phones. This teacher’s powerful perspective on the less-than-positive ramifications of allowing cell phone use at school supports our decision to have students “leave their phones at the door.
